Job description
I am on the look out for an experienced and proven successful Business Development Manager, with knowledge of Engineering within the Technical and Manufacturing industries, for a client of mine based in Buckinhamshire.
As a BDM, you will be responsible for generating leads and opportunities to create and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline, and convert pipeline opportunities into real, long-term business.
The ideal candidate for this role will have an in-depth commercial awareness of how revenues and gross margins impact the business. Someone from an Engineering/Manufacturing background with a good understanding of Electrical/Mechanical production methods would be perfect for this position!
As well as this, you will:
- Advise the business on marketing and sales strategies.
- Create strategic account plans for new customers / business opportunities.
- Develop strong working relationships with key decision makers across the target customer.
- Gain a high level of understanding of the customer’s products and the sector they operate in.
- Ensure the business exceeds customer expectations with feedback to senior management.
- Account Manage new customers.
- Development of contracts with new customers.
You will have:
- Ideally some form of Engineering Qualification.
- A solid understanding of the demands of Contract Manufacturing is essential. As well as this, an appreciation of Manufacturing Quality, production leadtimes, and component sourcing would be extremely useful and beneficial.
- High-level communications skills.
- Ability to take on-board complex technical data and interpret into ‘real’ requirements and actions.
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in pressurized environments in terms of timescales and deadlines.
- A full UK drivers’ licence is essential for this role.
