PLEASE NOTE this is a hybrid role based in the London UK office AND it does NOT offer Sponsorship now OR in the future UK citizenship or settled status is essential.
What you will do:
- Implement and maintain cloudbased services (AWS possibly Azure and Google) using Terraform IAC
- Build and maintain systems deployment monitoring and recovery processes
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of software solutions
- Contribute to engineering standards tooling processes and culture through code review pairing and postmortems
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Be available for (hopefully very rarely used!) emergency oncall support
A key part of the role will be ensuring that the wider engineering team can follow modern DevOpsstyle practices and quickly move new features to production with confidence that the systems and infrastructure will just work. Additionally as a young company experiencing very fast growth our client needs people who will enthusiastically jump into tasks outside of their field of expertise when necessary. There will be a fair amount of greenfield development!
What you will need:
Must have:
- 5 years of experience in DevOpsrelated roles working with cloudbased IAC including CI/CD pipelines monitoring recovery and scaling.
- Substantial experience in building and maintaining cloud development and hosting infrastructure using IAC ideally Terraform and AWS
- Substantial experience in triaging diagnosing and resolving issues in production
- Enough coding knowledge to engage with developers understand error logging and manage CI/CD processes
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams
This role may include systems access to sensitive data. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the basic requirements for government security clearance and are willing to undergo national security vetting to at least the BPSS level.
Bonus points if you have experience in:
- Programming and software development more generally especially Python or TypeScript
- Managing secure multiaccount infrastructure using AWS Control Tower
- CloudFormation which we use as an adjunct to Terraform
- AIpowered online services
- ML/data infrastructure and pipelines NLP / LLMs
