Job Description
The Head of Commercial will be responsible for:
- Set up and manage the commercial team within the Logistics Department
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance profitability and efficiency
- Conduct contract negotiations with key stakeholders
- Generate and win new business, primarily within eccommerce
- Oversee all commercial activities and ensure they align with the company strategy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the market
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Manage budgets and financial planning within the department
- Maintain positive relationships with partners and clients
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Commercial should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field
- Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the Transport & Distribution industry
- Confident in generating new business
- Creating and delivering commercial packages for prospect customers
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills
- Strong financial and budgeting skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- A deep understanding of the logistics sector and market trends
- Eccomerce and fulfilment is highly advantageous
- National role requiring travel so it will be beneficial to be based in the East / West Midlands
- Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain experience
