MacKenzie Kingare excited to be recruiting aManagement Accountantfor a dynamic and fast paced business, based in Ipswich. As a Management Accountant you will carry out a varied role and be able to provide commercial insight to management for sound business decisions in the short and long term. This role will focus on networking with managers to track company spending, budget monitoring and financial performance; to include preparing cost analysis, financial planning, and budgeting duties.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Ensure the management reporting and analysis is completed by workday 8 with all month end tasks completed in line with the close timetable, including Group consolidation
- Responsibility for preparing revenue and expense reports which involves department, contractual or project-specific analyses
- Provide financial analysis of the results such as variance analysis, margin analysis, overhead analysis and comparison against budget and/or forecast
- Troubleshoot financial results as required
- Identify risks to the forecast and outturnfor the year
- Monitor actions to mitigate the risks and work with the business to track actions and implications
- Support managers and budget holders with clear and simple financial reporting, ensuring all managers have a true understanding of their budget and financial position
- Create clarity and simplicity for senior management by helping to systemise, centralise, automate and communicate accurate financial and business information to the relevant people in a simple, straightforward and interesting manner
- Help drive continuous improvement in management reporting
- Creation of the budget/forecast and production of budget holder reports
- Provide commercial support to the business such as investment appraisals
- Responsibility for the expenses and credit card entries to the accounts and making accruals as necessary
- Identifying amendment in provisions and working with the Financial Accountant to ensure accurate management decision making regarding these
- Identifying opportunities to improve the quality of the month end process alongside the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller
- Assisting with project work as assigned by the Financial Controller
- Supporting the Financial Controller with any other reporting requirements
Qualifications and experience
- AAT Qualified, studying towards ACCA/CIMA or relevant experience
- Experience interrogating processes and implementing controls
- Experience working towards tight deadline reporting schedules
- Positive outlook and drive to improve efficiencies
- Strong Excel and system skills
- Proactive rather than reactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
