Job description
• To facilitate and support in decision making, promoting choice, involvement and control.
• Ensure the individual’s needs are met through planning and reviewing.
• Support the individuals’ participation in social, leisure, educational opportunities with the local community.
• Interact and participate with the individual’s development of self-help skills, supporting to her to reach her potential for independence.
• Provide stimulating opportunities to encourage the individual to develop and express themselves.
• A willingness to travel to support the delivery of the child’s needs
• Monitor food and drinks intake
• When required, to take an active role in leading activities.
• To report any problems/difficulties to mum.
• To maintain confidentiality and to ensure that professional boundaries are observed when working with the individual and his family using the Personal Assistant’s Code of Conduct as a guideline.
• To always ensure the safety of the individual, especially around road and strangers.
• Encourage self-advocacy whenever possible and help the child in her attempts to communicate her wishes and desires.
