The Company:
Our client is a Network Service provider and is a Microsoft Silver Partner. They work with a variety of clients in the Midlands offering services such as IT Support, Back-up & Disaster Recovery, Security & Data Storage as well as IT Consultancy. They are expanding their IT team and are looking for an IT Senior Engineer to join them in their Worcester office.
The Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced IT Engineer to join their team on permanent basis. As a Senior IT Support Engineer you will join their Engineering Team, providing remote and onsite technical support to their customers in both the education and private sectors. As an MSP, they deliver and support a wide of range of solutions for their customers and are looking to add another high quality engineer to their team. On top of day-to-day support and installations, you will be involved in larger schemes of work, ranging from new deployments and upgrades to full cloud transformation projects. As more of their customers move into the cloud, experience in cloud migrations from on-prem to Azure hosted environments would be advantageous.
You will have experience in:
- Windows Server (2012 to current) in a production environment (including installation)
- Associated server technologies, in particular: AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, Print Management, WSUS
- Virtual server technologies (Hyper-V and/or VMware), including Storage and Networking
- Deployment and management of Windows 10/11 in a domain environment
- Modern backup technologies, strategies, and disaster recovery planning
- Endpoint security solutions (AV, encryption etc)
- M365 stack; Azure AD, Exchange, Sharepoint, Intune, Autopilot, Licencing, Security & Compliance
- Switching, routing and firewalls
Additionally, desirable knowledge and/or experience areas include:
- Cloud transformation from on-prem environments to the Azure cloud
- Designing, deploying, and managing Azure infrastructure solutions
- Preparing HLD & LLD documents
- Migrating on-prem file servers to Sharepoint
- VoIP systems
- Apple technologies (MacOS, iOS, iCloud, ASM)
- Storage systems & technologies (NAS, SAN, iSCSI)
You will be responsible for:
- Working at a senior technical level within the business, contributing to solution design and leading on the delivery of allocated projects
- Maintaining the security and integrity of customer networks and devices
- Contributing to and preparing technical proposals for customers
- Producing documentation for use both by the company and their customers
- Delivering training to both customers and colleagues where necessary
- Installing and configuring hardware, software, and networking equipment as required
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues
- Delivering 2nd and 3rd line remote support to customers where required and act as a technical escalation point for colleagues
- Contributing to the development of services delivered by the company
- Adhering to their SLA’s with customers and completing work within agreed timescales
- Liaising with colleagues and 3rd parties as required to provide solutions to their customers
