Bournemouth
As a Barclays Financial Crime Screening (FCS) Governance Lead, you will be responsible for owning the overarching governance framework in the department, including ensuring we meet our reporting and performance requirements across Financial Crime Screening and Business functions. You will also take ownership of the current governance and performance reporting structure, ensuring it is fit for purpose with necessary decision making and escalation frameworks in place.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.
What will you be doing?
• Driving a robust culture of consistent reporting across GFCO services
• Providing insight on Financial Crime Screening’s performance
• Highlighting underlying trends and understanding future demand
• Encompassing the ongoing development and continuous improvement of our governance and reporting
• Demonstrating an ability to come up with solutions based on sophisticated analytical before implementing the preferred solution
• Providing clear and accurate updates for our key regulatory bodies
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and leverage relationships
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills
• Project Management/Governance expertise, with experience in managing multiple workstreams and governance forums
• Understanding of Barclays’ Businesses, Products, Processes and Technology
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of setting up and managing governance frameworks across multiple workstreams
• Knowledge of key Financial Crime functions – including Screening and Transaction Monitoring
• Able to demonstrate the key emerging themes/trends which are impacting this area
Where will you be working?
The Bournemouth Wealth Office is located between Bournemouth and Poole with Sandbanks beach no more than 500 metres from the front door. We have a significant number of restaurants and sports clubs locally which make this a great office to work in. We work very closely with our BUK colleagues and share the growing Barclays Eagle Lab on site. This creates significant interest across the region and provides an opportunity for the teams to get together regularly.
