Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH Teacher with a specialisation in Maths to join their team on a full-time basis, starting at Easter until at least the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Maths lessons to students with SEMH needs, fostering a love for learning and supporting their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs.
- Use creative teaching strategies and resources to make Maths accessible and enjoyable for all students, including those with complex needs.
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques and support systems to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being in the Maths classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress in Maths, providing regular feedback and interventions to support their learning.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with school policies and procedures.
SEMH Teacher (Maths Specialist) Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialisation in Maths or a related subject area.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs in a school setting, with a strong understanding of SEMH-related issues and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the school community.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards working with challenging behaviours and situations.
