About the Role:
Paragon Education is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school in Kidderminster as soon as possible. This position offers an excellent opportunity to provide essential support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary or secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCO to support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, assisting with classwork, homework, and social skills development.
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs) for students, ensuring their specific needs are met and progress is monitored.
Foster positive relationships with students, providing encouragement, motivation, and emotional support to help them succeed academically and socially.
Assist with the organization and preparation of learning resources and materials, adapting resources to meet the needs of individual students as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or care setting.
Knowledge or experience of supporting students with special educational needs, including familiarity with different SEN conditions and strategies for supporting students' learning and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and other staff members.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the academic and personal development of students with special educational needs.
Willingness to undergo relevant training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.
