Graduate Teacher of Design Engineering

CHARTERHOUSE

Location

Surrey | United Kingdom

Job description

A graduate teacher of Design Engineering is required for September 2024. The vacancy arises as the department grows at Charterhouse and we are seeking a technology or engineering graduate looking to share their passion for their discipline with young people. We are looking either for an entrant to the profession or a relatively inexperienced teacher wanting to broaden their range in a school that places value on the unique skills acquired in the subject; what is important is your motivation and desire to engage pupils in the development of design thinking and creativity.

Applicants should be academically well qualified in their field and be able to inspire academically-minded, motivated pupils with an enthusiasm for technological processes, invention and innovation. Additionally, experience in, or a feeling for engineering, electronics or computer science would be a recommendation, as would be an enthusiasm for hands-on design and technological projects.

Applications should be made in accordance with the School's application and safer recruitment procedures, via the School's website, selecting the relevant vacancy. This will take you to our online recruitment system and give you the opportunity to register and complete an application form. You will also have the opportunity to upload your latest CV.

Charterhouse offers a generous remuneration package and other benefits including a contributory pension scheme, private medical insurance, death in service benefit, and membership of the School’s Sports Club.

In case of any queries, please email: [email protected] or contact Mr. Andrew Thomson, Head of Design Engineering, for a preliminary discussion: [email protected]

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 12 April 2024 . Interviews will take place shortly thereafter.
