Job description
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a major global sports brand based in Leeds who have asked us to recruit a driver to transport Academy players to and from various locations in Leeds and surrounding areas. The job involves 2 x 3 hour shifts per day and initially is on an ongoing basis but there is a very strong possibility of Temp to Perm for a very good candidate. This is a great place to work with a positive and respectful culture. Whilst the role is easily commutable from anywhere in Leeds, it would particularly suit those people who live close to Horsforth.
The Benefits:
- £11.77 to £14.12 per hour (Based on PAYE Advanced – Holiday Pay Included). There will be an increase in April 2024.
- Branded uniform provided once permanent.
- Minimum 6 hours per day, Monday to Friday, but there are often extra hours available both midweek and weekend.
- Vehicle can be taken home overnight and between shifts, thereby reducing your own fuel costs.

The Role:
- 2 shifts per day, AM and PM, usually starting at 07:00 and 16:00 but this can vary.
- Driving a modern people carrier with between 2-6 academy players.
- There may be additional hours and night work/weekend work for higher rates of pay.
- Working as a team with other drivers to ensure that operations run smoothly.
- Keeping the vehicle clean, safe and reporting any defects immediately.
- Operating within the Safeguarding framework that is in place.
Requirements:
- Minimum Category B Licence with at least 1 year’s professional driving experience, although candidates with D1 entitlement would be particularly welcome to apply.
- For Insurance purposes you must be at least 25 years of age to apply for this role.
- No more than 6 points on your licence and for minor offences only.
- You must be a friendly, respectful person, who communicates positively and works well within a team.
- A flexible attitude to work is essential, as things often change or are added at the last minute and you need the ability to adapt and plan accordingly.
- An Enhanced DBS is required, if you don’t already have one, we will apply for one for the right candidate.
This is an ideal role for someone with time on their hands and who would love to be involved in the logistical side of professional sport. There is often a long gap during the day between shifts enabling you to combine work with daytime activities but there are also extra work hours available too.
