Job description

Due to the growth of our school, we are recruiting an Operations Manager who will deliver a streamlined operational service by managing key activities including staffing cover, investigation of funding streams and maintaining a smooth operation of school.

Required for April 2024 (or as soon as available). 

Salary:

Grade 10, SCP 34 £42,403 to SCP38 £46,464 (FTE: 37 hours, 52.143 weeks)

Actual salary: £36,472 (term-time only 44.85 weeks, 37 hours) working day to commence 7:30am.

Term-time plus 2 weeks would be considered.

Pay subject to experience and qualifications (subject to Local Government Terms and Conditions).

Two Rivers High School

Our school meets the needs of 255 pupils with special needs including ADHD, autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and social & emotional difficulties. Awarded in January 2019, Two Rivers High School is an Outstanding School for pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Purpose of the role

You’ll be proactively organising day to day operations of school including staffing cover to ensure required teaching levels are met within all classes; undertake a range of professional HR activities as required to ensure an effective teaching provision for our children and young people with a range of special educational need can be achieved. Demonstrating your entrepreneurial flair, you will investigate new and existing funding streams and lettings, drafting and submitting proposals for grant or other funding to support the education and premises environment to be well resourced and take an involvement in activities relating to the health, safety and welfare of pupils, staff and visitors to school.

Core Purpose and Accountabilities

• Contribute to the day-to-day effective organisation and running of the school.
• Efficiently manage the school’s daily cover requirements, guaranteeing that classes run smoothly even in the absence of teachers.
• Support senior staff in producing the timetable, maintaining group/class lists, room arrangements and timely distribution of reports.
• Maximise the use of school resources and facilities including lettings and school events ensuring appropriate arrangements and documentation are in place and these are communicated to relevant parties.
• Proactively investigate existing and new funding streams, grants etc.
• Build constructive relationships beyond the school, working effectively in partnership with stakeholders, parents, carers and the local community.
• Actively participate in achieving and promoting a healthy and safe school environment for all, provide support with risk assessments, health & safety walks and audit.
• Ensuring the effective dissemination of information and the maintenance of agreed systems for internal communication.
• As appropriate and under the leadership of the headteacher, undertake activities related to professional, personnel/HR issues, including recruitment, induction, supervision, training, appraisal and development of staff as required.
• Managing HR and other leadership processes as appropriate in relation to staff absence.
• Undertaking any professional duties, reasonably delegated by the headteacher.
• Other adhoc administrative duties, statistical analysis, record keeping and staffing database management.
• Uphold and promote the school’s aims and values.
