Location
Canterbury, Kent | United Kingdom
Job description
The Kent and Medway Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening Programme provides screening to men aged 65+ with ultrasound.
We are a small team working hard save lives by encouraging men take up the invitation for screening. The vascular nurse role is pivotal to this by providing men with a positive diagnosis with the tools to implement lifestyles changes to help manage their AAA better. This is delivered by outpatient appointments in various clinic venues across the Kent and Medway community.
This position is a flexible role both with at home working and outpatient clinics.
We offer a full package of benefits, including a car lease scheme; on-site childcare; generous annual leave in line with NHS terms and conditions; high street and public transport discounts; a 24/7 staff support service - and the little things that make life easier, like on-site Amazon lockers and fresh fruit and veg stalls.
The post holder will provide health and lifestyle advice to individuals with screen detected aneurysms at specific points in the screening process. This role covers the Kent and Medway Screening Programme area.
Individuals with aneurysms require close monitoring, support and secondary prevention to reduce their overall vascular risk and improve outcomes.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five
hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
