Team Manager – Child Protection Resource - fixed term until 31/03/2025

Salary: £60,506 - £72,266
Hours: 36 per week
The City of Edinburgh Council is currently recruiting for a Team Manager to oversee and develop the recently introduced, dedicated social work child protection resource within children’s services. The new resource receives all Child Protection referrals made in respect of children and young people across the city who do not have an existing allocated social worker.
Working closely with Police Scotland, NHS Lothian, Education Services and internal social work teams we are seeking an experienced children’s services social work practitioner with significant management experience to lead the development of the new child protection resource.
The role will encompass the development and implementation of the new resource across City of Edinburgh Children’s Services and partner agencies, in line with the Council’s vision for children and their families.
The post holder will be required to:
• Recruit a staff team consisting of a Team Leader, Senior Practitioners, and social workers.
• Develop and implement service processes for the management and review of the E-IRD (Inter-agency Referral Discussion) system.
• Lead on the development of data collection, evaluation, and quality assurance systems.
• Support and lead a staff team through a period of children’s services review.
• Promote and implement CEC children’s services practice standards.
• Provide high quality, responsive and rights-based services to children, young people and their families.
• Provide management to the Scottish Child Interview Model (SCIM) team.
This post is temporary for 1 year pending the City of Edinburgh Children's Services Review.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
