Procurement Buyer
We have an opportunity for a Procurement Buyer to join us at
Honeywell, in Edinburgh, where you will be responsible for supporting the
efficient operation of the sourcing & procurement team, developing
relationships with suppliers, ensuring direct materials are supplied according
to the production plan at the best price and on time. This is a hybrid role, 3 + 2 days model.

Key requirements
- Responds to Material Requirements Planning (MRP) messages to procure material in order to support production requirements - responsible for sourcing, creation of purchase orders, maintenance of key planning parameters, reconciliation of invoices and purchase order issues
- Obtains the best value for material, best value is defined as a combination of price, delivery, quality and service., considering total cost of acquisition when making procurement decisions
- Actively participate in company projects, company development, and identification of possible cost lowering measures, improved yield and productivity
- Manage supplier performance to ensure site is working with the right strategic suppliers to support short and long-term objectives
- Create and support commodity-based sourcing strategies to ensure site is working with the appropriate vendors
Key skills and qualifications
- Experience within purchasing or buying preferable from a production background or within the aerospace industry
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company coupled with negotiation skills
- Result-oriented, proactive, team-player who is responsive and responsible to deliver on commitments
- SAP and Excel skills
- Good organisational skills and planning skills
