Job Description
- Generate month-end reports from Sage and input data into management accounts following the company's specified format.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Reconcile bank statements monthly for all bank accounts.
- Post nominal journals as necessary to uphold ledger balances; perform monthly posting of prepayment, accrual, and payroll journals.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register by entering new asset details and posting monthly depreciation.
- Generate Sales Invoices every four weeks, input corresponding entries into the general ledger, conduct a sanity check on invoices, and update billing rates in Care software as needed.
- Create a monthly Aged Debtor report, pursue outstanding payments through established contacts in payment departments, and provide explanations to the Finance Manager for debtors aged over 30 days.
- Supervise the Accounts Administrator in entering all received invoices into the purchase ledger, ensuring timely payments and addressing discrepancies; maintain the Aged Creditor report and handle invoice discrepancies.
- Calculate, recover, and process VAT on a monthly basis.
- Administer monthly payroll, including National Insurance payments.
- Run Payroll Year End procedures, generating P11s, P35, P60s, and P11Ds (when necessary); reconcile Payroll reports with accounts ledgers for year-end reporting.
- Aid external accountants in preparing for the annual audit, collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the production of final accounts and Corporation Tax workings.
- Manage staff records, including holiday entitlement and sickness history.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.
The Successful Applicant
- Qualified or qualified by experience accountant.
- Exposure to consultancy is relevant but not necessary.
