We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Shift Supervisor based at Bournemouth who will support the operations Shift Leader to proactively supervise and manage the driving team, and support the development and delivery of a planned service, ensuring compliance at all times with group values and expectations, legislative and health & safety requirements, whilst ensuring a safe supportive positive working environment, and a service that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.
Working hours will be 17.00 to 05.00, 4 days on and 4 days off.
What you'll do...
- Be the first point of contact and interface for customers, Drivers, services and other road users for the Groups fleet operation
- Ensure that the required services are correctly delivered as booked and/or contracted on a job by job basis and contractual Service Level Agreements are met
- Supervise workloads, schedules, tasks and other related Transport functions.
- Maintain and manage all databases relating to transportation activities.
- Review and Maintain the Operations Supervisor Handover Logs daily throughout each shift and action as required ensuring that there is a clear, concise and complete handover at the start and end of each shift ensuring that there is continuity of service and a full understanding of prevailing operating conditions, issues and requirements
- In the event of service interruption take steps to ensure that customers are minimally inconvenienced and are kept informed with developments, plans and timescales
- Notify Operations Manager of any change or disruption to the planned contractual service that constitutes a contract infringement.
- Take the lead in resolving unforeseen challenges as they arise ensuring the appropriate resolution to these is delivered and communicated to the Operational Management team.
- Ensure the Driver despatching process is delivered seamlessly, ensuring vehicles and drivers are in the right place at the right time for our customers.
- Ensure drivers deliver our service appropriately to our customers, in conjunction with the changing needs of our customers and in line with our policies and procedures.
- Deliver positive & supportive interaction with the driving force.
- Supervisory staff are the first port of call for all our drivers & customers, professional phone etiquette is always required.
- Ensure Driver Daily Walk Round Checks and Pre-Use Reports are completed prior to departing the yard at the beginning of each duty.
- Ensure that all driver Tachograph records are downloaded/scanned and analysed daily at the end of each duty if required.
- Ensure uncompromised standards for service and passenger safety are delivered
- Ensure compliance of safety standards in transport functions is adhered to.
What you'll need...
- Previous management/ team leader experience.
- Road Passenger experience preferable
- Transport experience
- Ideally a PCV licence holder however, this is not essential
- Good understanding of Microsoft software to complete administration and organisational tasks.
- Developed personal and communication skills with a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Positive persona and the ability to work unsupervised.
