WESSEX VETERINARY ORTHOPAEDICS

We are a new independent small animal orthopaedic and spinal surgical referral practice based in Poole, Dorset. The clinic which is due to open in June 2024 will offer cutting edge treatment for referred cases from across the south of England. We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity for nurses to join our team and be involved in this exciting venture from the very beginning. We are looking for an individuals who are:

• The role includes:

Following practice policy and standard operating procedures relating to specific tasks.

Providing in-patient care. Monitoring sedation and anaesthesia.

Assisting with diagnostic imaging (X-ray and CT).

Running the practice laboratory.

Calculating, preparing and administering pre-prescribed medications as directed by a clinician.

Maintaining the highest hygiene standards at all times.

Setting and maintaining nursing standards to a high level.

Keeping accurate patient records of all events, treatments and communications.

Recording of all client communications within the computer records.

Assisting patient admits and discharges as required by the clinician.

Assisting with surgical and medical procedures.

Ensuring equipment is clean and well maintained.

Cleaning and sterilising of instruments and equipment.

Telephone answering and reception duties as required including greeting clients, making appointments and taking payments.
