The role

Reporting into the Legal Director for UK/Ireland, you will be advising on a variety of matters including:

· Providing practical, commercial legal advice across the various product lines and sectors;
· Advising on the drafting and negotiation of high value commercial contracts with customers at local and global level for contract logistics and freight management across all product lines, sectors and suppliers;
· Providing advice given to the Business Development team on bids and tenders for new customer contracts;
· Assisting on GDPR/Data Privacy and compliance matters;
· Assisting with the provision of training to the business on legal matters;
· Managing relationships with key stakeholders; and
· Liaising with colleagues throughout Europe and internationally across the business.

The person

The business moves at a fast pace and you will need to be proactive, flexible and resilient and experienced in managing stakeholders. The stakeholders will need your legal advice to be succinct, commercial, pragmatic and useable, so you will need to be able to balance legal risk with commercial reward.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a lawyer already working in-house who is looking for a true step up in responsibilities and exposure to the business. The opportunity would also suit a lawyer currently working in private practice, who has good commercial law skills and is seeking to develop in this exciting industry, with the necessary support from the Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Director.
