We currently have an opportunity for a permanent Production Manager to join us and be a part of the Plant Leadership Team.

As the Production Manager, you'll spearhead the management and leadership of our shift production teams, working directly with Production Team Leaders to ensure seamless operations. Your role will involve meticulous planning and organisation of production activities, including resource allocation, plant cleaning and hygiene scheduling, and coordination with Warehousing and Logistics functions. Monitoring and reporting on production performance will be key, encompassing responses to breakdowns, quality issues, Health and Safety requirements, staffing, recruitment needs, and other Supply Chain matters. You'll be instrumental in optimising production efficiency, output, and quality in alignment with our site’s OGSM and Alpro values.

About you

You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, have strong communication skills, ability to prioritise and think ahead, the ability to solve technical, complex problems and be able to work nights and weekends.

The following qualifications/skills are required:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience of managing a production facility within the food industry (preferably dairy, beverage, chilled or short shelf-life foods)
• Well-developed communication and presentation skills
• Well-developed project management and planning skills
• Demonstrable team management experience within a production environment
• Proven experience of working in a TQM / continuous improvement orientated organisation
• SAP knowledge advantageous
• Proven people manager: good coaching skills and ability to train and develop others
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High personal standards
• Well-developed leadership skills
• Team player
• Mature approach

Close working relationships between the Plant Leadership Team, Production and Quality Department are integral to the success of this role. You will become conversant with internal processes and structures such as DaMaWay, MES and using SQCDME Key Performance Indicators as a measure of success.
