POSITION SUMMARY:
Global Project, Program & Portfolio Management (GPPPM) sits in the Research and Development (R&D) department.
The Global Program Director works in concert with the Medicine Development Leader (MDL), Global Medical Affairs Lead (GMAL) and the Commercial Lead to lead a global cross-functional matrix team, that delivers value for all stakeholders, through the development and/or lifecycle management of quality assets for the treatment of the chronic relapsing condition and co-morbidities of addiction .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Medicine Development and Lifecycle Plan Management: Utilizing the Target Product Profile and/or Brand Plan, the Global Program Director collaborates with subject matter experts on the matrix team to construct an overall schedule, budget and risk register. The Global Program Director is responsible to manage, drive and track progress, and identify and manage any variances to the plan baselines and risks to realize opportunities and/or avoid delays . The Global Program Director should have the ability and experience to manage any development asset from discovery through to Phase IV .
Lead and Facilitate Preparation of Documentation for Governance / Stage Gate Decisions including new business cases: Summarize key data supporting program progression. Propose options for investment to Senior Executives (e.g., scenario plans with different timings, costs, and/or risks / opportunities) with a clear recommendation on the preferred team option .
Matrix Team Management: Prepare agendas and minutes for matrix team meetings. Maintain decision and action logs, ensuring actions are completed.
Maintain the team site, ensuring meeting minutes and governance board presentations are archived in a timely manner .
Communication / Reporting: Drive and promote effective communication and reporting practices within the team. Prepare reports / slide decks for use with the team and management to communicate status, achievements, challenges, and variances to plan baselines.
Liaise with Finance and matrix team to efficiently and effectively manage budgets .
Actively lead and participate the development and implementation of best practices within GPPPM .
Lead and manage special projects, programs or alliances, as and when business need requires.
Coach more junior members of the team
Potential for line management responsibilities within the team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Field of Study: L ife / physical science (preferably)
Experience:
>15 years pharmaceutical R&D or related industry experience which must include
≥10 years of demonstrated matrix cross-functional project or program management experience.
Minimum of 5 years line management experience during career.
Extensive k nowledge and experience of the drug development process from discovery to commercialization and Phase IV
Proven success leading in a matrix team environment.
Computer Skills:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Project and PowerPoint .
Demonstrated competence in the rest of the Microsoft Suite with good proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel and Word.
Experience in the use of SharePoint sites .
Familiarity with SAP and PowerBI a plus.
License/Certifications:
