We are seeking to recruit a Governance and Legal Administrator to provide high quality support across the governance, legal and compliance services managed within the University Secretary’s Office. You will work across these areas as directed by the Senior Governance Officer, providing high quality administrative support in a busy and varied work environment.
Supporting the governance and legal team, you will provide high quality secretariat support to the most senior committees of the University, acting as Committee Secretary for several committees, and building effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the institution. You will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of other governance business, including maintaining a range of governance and compliance records and registers, and supporting the development of the internal governance portal. In addition, you will act as the initial point of contact for all queries related to information governance matters and provide administrative support to the Information Governance Officer for the University’s risk management duties, including personal data breach mitigation, Privacy Impact Assessments, data sharing agreements, records of processing activities, and Information Asset Registers. You will provide administrative support for responding to personal data access requests from data subjects and third parties, together with other requests from data subjects to exercise their Data Protection rights, such as erasure and objection, and prepare reports on such requests. You will also be responsible for administering the system for handling and responding to Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests, reporting to the Information Governance Officer and senior management as appropriate.
Educated to degree level, or with significant equivalent work-based experience, you will have strong research, critical thinking, and analysis skills, and have the ability to liaise with a wide range of staff at all levels. You will also be highly organised with a strong attention to detail and be able to manage competing deadlines to ensure statutory requirements are met.
