Job Title: Cable Jointer (Telecoms/ Contract)Location:Glasgow
Contract Length: 2 Years
Job Overview:Our client are seeking a skilled and experienced Telecoms Cable Jointer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, splicing, terminating, and maintaining telecommunications cables to ensure the reliable operation of our network infrastructure.
Responsibilities: -Install and terminate HV & LV cables, switchgear, earthing, heavy-duty cut-outs, MSDB's, as well as small power and lighting.
-Ensure cost-effective and efficient use of resources at the worksite.
-Execute installations in accordance with quality assurance, engineering design, time constraints, statutory requirements, and relevant standards.
-Follow established work safety practices, distribution safety rules, and environmental regulations.
-Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations.
-Work in compliance with Method statements, Risk Assessments, and conduct point-of-work risk assessments (POWRA).
-Install package substations/switchgear and GRP Housings.
-Successfully pass audits on completed works.
-Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard management to ensure worksite safety.
Requirements:-SPEN Accreditations
-NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent).
-Certificate of Competency/Qualification for DNO's, IDNO's Electrician or Electrical Fitter.
-Driving license.
-CSCS
Ideally, you will also have:
-Formal trade qualification in HV/LV cable jointing (apprentice served).
-Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate.
-MEWP/PASMA Certificate.
