Operations Manager Construction - Fit Out - Hertfordshire
Up to £85,000 plus Company Vehicle or £5,000 equivalent/allowance, plus Pension & Profit related Bonus
My client is a highly successful Specialist Contractor who produce architectural components for commercial interiors. They offer a turnkey service for both main contractors and end users alike, from initial design concepts through to delivery and installation on site. They operate nationally and have a diverse customer base, to include aviation, health, leisure and education, with typical packages ranging between £50,000 and £200,000 in value.
As part of their planned expansion and an increased demand for their highly innovative product range, a new appointment for an Operations Manager has been created. You will be responsible for managing a team of Project Managers, working closely with the sales and commercial team, you will help to coordinate the operational delivery of projects, overseeing the process from project award, liaising with the in-house manufacturing team, logistics/fleet and site fitters. Ensuring deadlines are met or exceeded and projects are delivered on time and any delays or disruptions are kept to a minimum. You will also be the lead on Health & Safety and keep up to date with the latest legislation and training for all reporting personnel.
As Operations Manager you will be involved in a variety of duties, but predominantly the key being the co-ordination of materials to site and the management and development of existing subcontractor base, including network of fitters to meet the demand. Ensuring projects are well resourced and fitters have all the technical information, drawings and instructions they need. You will be the point of contact for clients and suppliers and will develop these relationships.
In addition to the operational management duties, you will be commercial minded, analysing costs and value engineering to ensure budgets are maintained and any profits (GP) will form the basis of a highly rewarding incentive scheme.
It’s likely this person will have gained prior exposure in the Construction Industry, working in a Project Management, Contracts Management or Operations function on commercial fit out projects, where you have had the contractor/subcontractor interface.
You will be well organised, a good communicator and computer literate, in particular the use of Excel and Outlook.
A full UK driving license is essential and a company vehicle will be provided.
