Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our fantastic team at Medivet Washington, County Durham.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

Branch Partnership opportunities are also available where you can own a share of the clinic, have complete clinical freedom whilst receiving full support from the wider Medivet network.

Full time working pattern is 4 days per week and 1 in 3 Saturdays or we can accommodate part time hours.

Salary & Benefits

Salary package up to £50,000 per annum full time equivalent or pro rata for part time hours to include:

Skills and Experience

You must be a Veterinary Surgeon who is registered with the RCVS with 1+ years experience in small animal practice.

Branch

A friendly clinic with a large and devoted client base that has been well established in Washington since 1985. It has great facilities including a large waiting room, three consult rooms, a theatre, x-ray, video endoscopy, and a separate cat and dog ward. With a dedicated, large dental suite with dental x-ray. You will be working alongside 2 experienced vets, dedicated RVNs and an incredibly welcoming support team. The Washington clinic has been accredited by the RCVS as a Small Animal General Practice, continuing to offer exceptional care to both our patients and clients.

Washington, Tyne and Wear is well connected by road via the A1(M) Motorway with Newcastle upon Tyne approximately 20 minutes away where you’re able to catch a train into London. The closest airport is Newcastle Airport or you could fly from Teesside International which is just under an hour away.
