Job description
This large independent accountancy practice is looking to bolster their growing team with another qualified accountant. This general accountant will be responsible for a small team within their office of 12, running a portfolio with a mix of accounts preparation, tax compliance and audit if you have experience (not essential).

Description
For this practice Accountant based in Witney, depending on qualifications / experience, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Review of management accounts, and VAT returns.
- Preparing management accounts with more technical requirements
- Preparation and review of annual statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns
- Preparation and review of self-assessment tax returns
- Managing a small portfolio of clients involving overseeing client deadlines and helping the team to prioritise their workload.
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Responding to technical accounting and finance related queries from staff and clients
- Effectively managing client communication
- Organising and leading client meetings
Profile
The ideal candidate for this Accountant based in Witney will be/have:
- ACA/ACCA/QBE qualified, or finalist
- Experience of UK GAAP and FRS 102 (including FRS 102 1a for small entities)
- Experience of sole trade, partnership, and limited company accounts.
- Experience working within general practice.
- Takes a commercial approach, keeping the client's best interests at the heart of everything.
- Enjoys and sees the benefit in developing others.
- Able to build strong relationships internally and externally.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance workloads to manage the needs of various clients.
- Experience with accounting software (such as Xero, Sage and Quickbooks) is advantageous
- Audit experience to a senior level is advantageous.
