Senior Bank Processing Specialist
Part Time, Permanent - 17.5 hours per week

Reporting into the Cashbook Accountant, The purpose of this role is to provide technical knowledge and expertise to ensure all transactional processing for bank accounts, payment processes (including dealer pay-out) and balance sheet accounts for VWFS (UK) Ltd, VW Bank Branch and MFS (UK) Ltd are completed with accuracy, on time and with quality controls.
The role holder will also be responsible for the development of process improvements to systems and the investigation of balances and reconciling items, along with cross functional working with other departments.
This is what your day might look like:
- Ensure the daily bank processing payments and operational processes for VWFS (UK) Ltd and VW Bank (via service level agreement) are completed accurately with robust controls and in line with the daily timetable and business policies / authorisation matrices.
- Be a subject matter expert and technical specialist in supporting the team with key system requirements and problem solving relating to all aspects of Bank Processing.
- Review and authorise daily cash books and bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts rectifying any reconciliation differences.
- Ensure the correct allocation of payments and receipts to individual accounts and suppliers are completed daily.
- Reconcile the current and forecasted operational daily cash positions to Treasury on the net in/out flows to allow for liquidity planning.
- Reconciliation of specific balance sheet General Ledger accounts on a monthly basis making sure accurate balances are reported, documented actions are in place to investigate and resolve aged open items and completed in line with the monthly timetable.
- Define and report Bank Processing key performance indicators in order to provide accurate and timely management information.
- Identify opportunities for system and process change, understand the impacts of changes and apply decision making techniques to prioritise effectively.
- Understand the interaction and impact of subsidiary systems on the main SAP accounting systems to ensure system integrity, particularly in relation to cash books, payments and receipts and balance sheet accounts
