Product & Process Development Technologist

Pro-Pak Foods is a major supplier of delicious ready meals to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and convenience stores. Our chefs work with our customers and have created a menu of more than 200 quality meals.
We’re now recruiting for a Product and Process Development Technologist to join our team at our site in Malton, North Yorkshire. In this role you will have the opportunity to grow and develop within our amazing company and you can make this role your own.
You will be supporting and enabling the implementation of new products, development, processes and changes to existing products within the site/business.
Reporting to the Business Improvement Manager you will ensure all trials and projects run within the agreed critical path.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring products are technically sound throughout the development process whilst guaranteeing food safety legislations, timescales and budgets are met
Running production trials to monitor product performance in line with customer quality parameters as well as evaluating trial reports and troubleshooting potential issues
Liaising with the Technical Team to lead the project handover ensuring all finished products conform to agreed specifications
Investigating and problem solving any production issues, sending micro and nutritional samples for testing alongside completing travel assessments for all dishes
Leading pre and post-trial meetings to ensure successful launches and the continued growth of this progressive business
Thermal process validation.
As our new Product & Process Development Technologist you will provide a site-based resource within the development department to own and manage NPD, EPD projects for the site for the customer base from process handover to launch.
Who we are looking for:
We are ideally looking for experience in a similar role
BSc or equivalent in a food related discipline
Level 3 or above in food safety
Understanding of HACCP
Thermal processing is desired (full training will be given)
Experience in factory environments, with wider technical understanding
Competent with all major Microsoft software packages
Organisational & project management skills to assist with critical path deadlines & project priorities
Strong organisation skills.

Salary up to £30,000
33 days holiday inc Bank Holidays with an option to buy up to 5 extra days
