Key Responsibilities:
In the role of a Mechanical Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering commercial fit–out projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Project Leadership: Assume leadership of mechanical building services projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives, including cost, schedule, and quality.
- Client Engagement: Establish and nurture robust client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project. Understand client needs, address concerns, and ensure client satisfaction.
- Team Coordination: Effectively lead project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to foster seamless collaboration and communication among all stakeholders.
- Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost–saving opportunities while ensuring projects remain within budgetary constraints.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage comprehensive knowledge of mechanical building services systems to guide the installation, and commissioning phases. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all mechanical systems meet stringent performance and safety standards.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Proactively resolve any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports, while ensuring all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
- Health and Safety: Prioritize the safety of all project stakeholders by enforcing strict safety protocols and adherence to industry best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and industry knowledge:
- A time served apprenticeship or an HNC / HMD in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, with a successful track record in commercial fit–out projects.
- In–depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, and their integration within commercial spaces.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk assessment.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and lead project teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Health and safety certifications and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
