PLEASE REFER TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR FULL DETAILS Main Duties and Responsibilities The post holder must be able to plan & prioritise their own workload when required and assist in ensuring students within ultrasound receive adequate training within the department & where appropriate be involved in the supervision and clinical training of students, other qualified staff & Assistants. They must have good communication skills, being able to communicate sensitive information to a broad range of patients so they understand the implications of the findings & where possible they must be able to reassure the patient. When having to impart difficult information empathy & understanding is essential. It is important that they have the expert clinical knowledge & skills to carry out appropriate ultrasound examinations; they must also be able to make a clinical judgement based on assessing and interpreting the ultrasound findings, report on their findings, making a diagnosis, where possible. Write reports in a clear concise manner & communicate these findings to colleagues to ensure the patient receives appropriate treatment.
