Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Digital Marketing & Engagement Coordinator on behalf of our public sector client based in Barking.

The role will work within their Film department and will help to build, implement and deliver relatable, culturally inclusive and innovative digital marketing plans and campaigns to promote the film sector within the borough.

This is a temporary contract initially for 3 months with view for further extension and is paying £21.89 per hour PAYE or £27.79 per hour Umbrella.

Role Requirements:

Creating and delivering engaging, inclusive, informative and fun content and marketing materials across digital assets

Innovate and evolve ideas from concept to content creation, making things relevant to multi-faceted audiences and working to key themes and developing those into wider campaigns, working ahead of time to build robust comms delivery for the film service

Working collaboratively with the organisation's communication department and stakeholder partners, to provide accurate content for stories regarding the latest production success and education/training/business opportunities, which they can promote via traditional media outlets

Maintain the new crew database for prospective new entry/experienced crew members and ensuring it is widely promoted across the borough

Prepare copy for social posts, reliably researching and emulating great copy for publications, monthly newsletters, the website, social media, advertisements, media briefings, general marketing materials, etc

Support with a variety of in-person and digital events, including careers days, industry training sessions, workshops, location visits, film screenings and festivals

Support the wider film team with events and filming

Prepare regular feedback to the team on digital marketing effectiveness, chase deadlines in good time, track outputs to guide future content and manage analytics for the website and social media

Take the lead on establishing consistency around the film service brand

Source branded merchandise and promotional materials from local suppliers, e.g., banners, t-shirts and ensure adequate stock levels for events

Maintain and consistently evolve existing digital channels in line with moving trends, which include the new film website, Instagram and Twitter and take the lead to innovative and grow new profiles for the digital space

Ensure the film website is up to date, regularly maintained and accurate in its presentation of all service offers, e.g., latest news, training and job opportunities listings, places to film production credits (latest productions that have filmed in the borough) and business supplier lists

Create a digital prospectus via the website to cross-promote with the new studios the local offer, which would include available places to film, business services, accommodation, local people for employment and production crew trainees

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

Able to demonstrate an understanding of how to gain meaningful exposure - striking the right tone with multi-audiences and how this would apply to a film service

Demonstrate photography, videography and editing skills, transferable

to different media channels

A vision for how to maximise the borough's film and tv sector profile, in line with the community outreach objectives, which brokers opportunities wit the local film industry. Enthusiastic about growing the film sector within the borough and attracting new productions to film and innovatively communicating opportunities to residents and the community

Familiar with using creative software such as Canva, photoshop/premier pro, Mailchimp or similar apps to create GIFs and/or engaging designs for social media, monthly newsletters and materials

Display a creative writing ability, with an aptitude for writing succinct, impactful copy at pace, which is accurate, timely, relevant, concise and thoroughly grammar and spell checked. Able to adapt copy in line with different channels
