Job description

What you will do in your working day

Working in the Maintenance team as a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer

Duties will include:

• Breakdown work, scheduled maintenance, upgrades and retrofit installation work both mechanical and electrical.
• Replacing control systems and PLC's
• Installing new machine guards
• Working on a variety of machinery including Presses from 50 ton to 5000 tons, welding machines, paint plant, CNC machines, hydraulic and pneumatic machines

The successful candidates will work within the policy, procedures and Health and safety of the company, and to customer requirements. 

Within the first year you will attend HWGTA to learn the basic skillset to become an Engineer, and be able to put this skillset into the respective team at Titan. 

The training you will be getting

Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

• Formal training is delivered at  HWGTA located in Worcester (WR4 9GN)
• Duration approximately 40-45 months
• Year 1 includes 26-42 weeks off the job training to cover practical and theory aspects based at our Training Centre
• Year 2 would include 1 day per week to complete EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Development Knowledge
• Years 2,3&4 will be based in company developing skills in preparation for the end point assessment to gain your Engineering Technician Level 3 qualification
• You will receive monthly visits from your assigned Learning and Development Specialist, who will set you work, monitor your development and wellbeing, and discuss training sessions. They will also prepare you for your End Point Assessment
• Additional training for functional skills in English and Maths will be undertaken if needed
• There is also a five-day teambuilding residential trip that is held in the spring of each year offered to all apprentices on programme

• Possible HNC opportunity on sucessful completion of apprenticeship
