Salary: 32,000-£36,000
We're in search of a committed and adept HR professional to join a secondary school located in Waltham Forest. As a School HR Officer, you'll be pivotal in delivering top-notch HR support to our educational community.
Your duties will encompass a range of tasks, including onboarding, conducting safer recruitment checks, managing payroll input, administering employment terms and conditions, maintaining the school's single central record, handling leavers administration, and monitoring sickness absences. Working closely with the HR Manager and the school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you'll provide a proactive and professional HR service as an integral part of the school's support team.
Responsibilities of the School HR Officer: - HR Support: Act as the primary contact for all HR inquiries, offering proactive assistance to both managers and employees. From recruitment to exit procedures, you'll cover the full spectrum of HR responsibilities.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with the SLT to ensure seamless HR operations. Your meticulous attention to detail will be vital in maintaining employee records and coordinating HR activities.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with the school's values and ethos. You'll actively promote corporate policies and cultivate a positive work atmosphere.
- Relationship Building: Forge strong connections with staff, parents, and students. Your interpersonal finesse will be essential in resolving queries and fostering a supportive HR environment.
Requirements for the School HR Officer: - HR Expertise: Demonstrated comprehension of HR policies, procedures, and fundamental employment legislation.
- Recruitment Experience: Previous involvement in staff recruitment processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively across all levels.
- Education Sector Advantage: Experience in a similar role within the education sector is beneficial.
