Job description
This role is for one of the biggest water and civil services consultancies, they are currently looking for an experienced Senior/Principal Engineer - Coastal Infrastructure to join their growing team on a permanent basis to support the delivery of numerous projects all across the UK and internationally. This role is located in Epsom and supports flexible working.
Job Description:
Some of the main requirements for this role include:
- Delivery of tasks and projects from inception to handover, meeting quality, time and budget requirements.
- Delivering activities for key local and national clients, maintaining and expanding a portfolio of strong relationships leading to new and repeat business.
- Contributing to successful proposals that meet client needs and lead to technically and commercially successful work.
- Support the discipline lead in developing our client's service lines and technical capability and assisting with delivering business development targets.
- Inspiring and mentoring colleagues in developing their technical knowledge and understanding.
Requirements
- Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in the fields of coastal and maritime engineering.
- Strong technical experience in assessment of design parameters, strategic coastal planning, coastal environment, climate change, beach management, the design of coastal & port structures with knowledge of relevant codes, standards and guidance documents, and an appreciation of current developments.
- Understanding and familiarity of numerical modelling software. Our Client maintains in-house numerical modelling capability and uses DHI Mike software along with other industry standards such as SWAN and xbeach.
- Track record of delivery of successful projects and the ability to support winning tenders.
- Excellent, client focused, writing skills.
- Willingness to travel on short assignments within the UK and overseas.
- A valid UK driving licence is desirable.
