Job description
To support transition from student to therapist our Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy and Practice Development Occupational Therapist work closely with the band 5 Therapists to provide a supportive environment for staff to develop during their rotations. We also have highly skilled band 7 Occupational Therapists who are able to provide supportive rotations with regular supervision and teaching within each rotation. You will have regular clinical supervision, as well as rotational and annual appraisal. There is also a monthly Occupational Therapy meeting with protected teaching time within the meeting. The post holder will participate in our rostered weekend and public holiday service. For full details about this varied and rewarding role, please see attached job description, but some of the responsibilities include Communicates in a confident and assertive manner as part of the multi-disciplinary team. Adheres to Trust Values and Behaviours, modelling those values and challenging poor behaviour in others. Undertakes moving/handling tasks that require intense physical effort throughout the working day. Provides day to day supervision and delegation of work to therapy assistants. To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive written or electronic patient treatment records and activity data are maintained in line with Occupational Therapy Professional and Trust standards of practice. To liaise with health and social care professionals and other related statutory, private and voluntary organisations, providing written reports, recommendations and referrals when appropriate. Ensures that up to date written or electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust Standards.
