Job description


Mayfield School seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Administrator.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, enjoy working in a team, have a caring approach to children and adults and be able to prioritise workload. The candidate must be confident in the use of MS office packages and email.

The successful candidate will have Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English at GCSE level.

Specific Duties

• Provide secretarial, clerical and word processing support ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times, for both the primary and senior sectors of the school.
• To meet statutory deadlines regarding Education Health and Care Plans, and other SEND admin as required.
• To timetable support staff across the senior school into classes and with students, according to student need and staff skillset to best support the cohort, meeting statutory EHCP requirements.
• Organising cover for LSAs who are unable to attend work including induction of required agency supply staff.
• Supporting LSAs and meeting each morning to clarify the operation of the day.
• Provide administrative support for the SENCO and Inclusion Team, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collation of pupil reports, receiving deliveries.
• Reading all new pupil files including at transition points, choosing applicable and relevant information regarding SEND, and uploading that information onto the system to disseminate to appropriate teaching staff.
• To understand and know the processes behind an Education Health and Care Plan Needs Assessment, collating and choosing appropriate evidence.
• To maintain an accurate timetable of Education, Health and Care Plan reviews, and to arrange those reviews, including seeking statutory feedback from invested parties, for both primary and senior sections of the school.
• To monitor the outcomes of students with EHCPs termly via their class teachers.
• To liaise with the Local Authority’s SEND Team regarding queries and concerns, and to contact them within proposed time frames.
• Provide a contact point for students with SEND organising and disseminating assistive technology.
• To lead on the administrative arrangements for access arrangements.
• To maintain the SEN Register in SIMS and the student information on the shared area of the school network.
• To maintain registers of interventions for all children in the senior section who are entered for them, as well as the de-registration from their subsequent mainstream lesson, thereby ensuring safeguarding.
• To maintain accurate records on Edukey regarding external agency reports and interventions for children with SEND.
• To maintain the school’s SEND Provision Map on Edukey and ensuring that review of interventions happen half-termly.
• To support the SENCO with returns to the Local Authority and DfE.
• To answer specialist SEND-specific enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and the general public.
