Job description
We invite applications for Staff Clinician in Small Animal Surgery in the Department of Clinical Science and Services. The small animal surgery service is integrated into a large multidisciplinary team of specialists at the RVC’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, located in our Hawkshead Campus, a 15-minute train ride from the centre of cosmopolitan London and near a number of international airports. The small animal surgery team is a large, friendly team with an interesting and varied caseload, including emergency and trauma cases. This post will be a weighted towards Orthopaedic surgery with a minimum of 60% Orthopaedics surgery. We are looking for true team players with exceptional communication skills and who are enthusiastic about working with students, including supporting undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. The appropriate candidate will be expected to enhance the department’s reputation through scholarship in clinical activities and teaching. You will achieve this by delivering professional services within the College’s hospitals, delivering clinical training on veterinary and paraveterinary undergraduate curricula and participating in postgraduate training programmes. We are looking for candidates with a RCVS registrable degree in veterinary science, who hold a postgraduate diploma in veterinary surgery. A background in research work in one of the College’s areas of special interest, although desirable, are not essential.
