This is a full-time position – 45 hours per week.
At Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve, our Orangery and Pergola, along with the Mansion Hotel function rooms, are exquisite and unique events spaces, set in the grounds of a wild animal park. Our venues offer truly unique settings for weddings, conferences, private events, training courses and internal meetings.
As our Event Operations Manager you will use your charismatic personality to confidently lead the running of our events from set up to break down. You will be ambitious to make our weddings and events known for their exceptional service delivery and drive our team to maintain the highest standards. You will manage inevitable last-minute changes and ensure they are dealt with minimal fuss, professionalism and effectively communicated to those who need to know. You will monitor and control all aspects of the event operation to ensure the highest quality service standards are maintained and guests receive a truly memorable experience.
Who are we looking for:
You will have proven event operations experience, ideally within a quality led hospitality venue. You will have exceptional organisational skills, flawless attention to detail, and excellent food & beverage knowledge. You will have considerable experience of managing a variety of events in a similar environment and developing a diverse team of 20 to 30 employees. You will have previous experience of managing staffing levels and rosters to efficiently meet occupancy levels and budgets.
You will be able to build lasting working relationships through excellent communication and you will have a creative and proactive approach to problem solving and providing a suitable resolution to complaints. A full, valid UK driving license is essential for this position.
Contract details:
Expected start date is April 2024. This position is working 45 hours a week, 5 days out of 7, including holidays, evenings, and weekends as per the rota. Service Charge is in addition to salary. This role is based at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve near Folkestone and reports directly into the Food & Beverage Operations Manager. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. A reliable mode of transport is recommended due to our remote location.
