Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Salary: £35,000
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Working hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
Location: Oxford (The Old Music Hall, 106-108 Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1JE)
The Assistant Management Accountant role will be responsible primarily for supporting the Finance Manager and Finance Director with the preparation of the annual budget, monthly management accounts and financial statements for the Ethical Property Company. Other tasks include:
· Monthly bank reconciliation.
· Balance Sheet reconciliations.
· Reviewing management information with the Head of Finance and budget holders.
· Management of the fixed assets register, including depreciation calculations and verification exercises.
· Transaction processing, e.g. monthly credit card returns, supporting the Sales and Purchase Ledger Manager as required.
The Assistant Management Accountant will report to the Finance Manager.
Finance Responsibilities
Using the Sage Intacct accounting software.
Essential skills and experience:
· AAT part qualified or passed finalist.
· Significant experience in running finance ledgers (sales, purchase and bank).
· Ability to act quickly and effectively using their own initiative.
· Meticulous attention to detail.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work, multi-task and remain flexible.
· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
· Excellent communication skills at all levels.
· To be able to work alone and as part of a wider team.
· To be trustworthy, personable and reliable.
· A commitment to provide a good service to our tenants, suppliers and colleagues.
· Excellent IT skills, including computerised accounts packages and Microsoft Office - at least to intermediate level in Excel.
· A commitment to social and environmental issues.
Contractual Details
The post is full time working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The working hours will be between 9am – 5pm and is flexible according to business needs. The salary will be between £35,000 a year depending on skills and experience. The role is based in Oxford.
