Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial/Civil Litigator to join our team as the Head of Contentious Private Client, specializing in Contentious Probate. As the Head of Department, you will be responsible for managing and leading a small team of talented lawyers, overseeing all aspects of contentious probate cases, and driving the growth of this practice area.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of lawyers, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure the highest level of performance.
- Take ownership of contentious probate cases, from initial client consultation to resolution, ensuring a comprehensive and effective strategy is implemented.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide expert advice and representation in court proceedings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering exceptional client service and managing client expectations.
- Collaborate with other practice areas within the firm to identify cross-selling opportunities and promote the firm's services.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, regulations, and industry trends related to contentious probate.
Requirements: Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in Commercial/Civil Litigation.
Proven expertise and specialization in Contentious Probate, with a strong track record of successfully handling complex cases.
Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a law firm or department, demonstrating excellent people management skills.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
