The Head of UK Accounting will have overall responsibility for assigned accounting operations as well as associated analysis, reporting and audit activities. While coordinating the Accounting team in the UK and managing the Team Leads, this individual will demonstrate strong financial accounting skills and ability to manage the change.
Our Team
The Accounting team will be responsible for fulfilling daily accounting tasks plus statutory reporting and the reporting to Germany for the external consolidation for all UK entities. The accounting will also deliver the base for the monthly internal management reporting. The team right now includes approximately 25 employees.
What you'll do
- Lead an effective and comprehensive process for all accounting functions in own area of responsibility.
- Coordinate the UK accounting team leads to comply with statutory and German GAAP requirements as well as base for the management reporting and other statistical reporting requirements.
- Lead the accounting teams through change – new System
- Be a speaking partner to the transactional team and FP&A, but also for external partners such as auditors and tax advisors
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and workloads
- Contribute actively to projects and the implementation of the Finance Target Operating Model
- Review and optimize the allocation of responsibilities in the different teams
- Responsible for staff motivation and development
What you'll bring
- Strong financial accounting knowledge is a must
- Long accounting experience with evidence of assuming roles of greater complexity, responsibility and accountability during their career
- Experience in leading a team with team leads for financial accounting
- Ability to lead change processes and manage a team in an environment of a high workload (system change)
- Ability to manage different stakeholder requests and to think strategically
- Hands-on mentality and excellent problem solving
- Ability to work with different expectations and ambiguity
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentially.
- Proactive attitude with team oriented, collaborative working style
