Job description
Lead Science Technician:
Smile Education is collaborating with Tudor Grange in Solihull to find a passionate Lead science technician for their team starting in March. The school are a community school who are dedicated to being inclusive. The school work closely with all staff and families to ensure the students are at the heart of what they do at all times.
Responsibilities: - Providing technical support, ensuring that equipment is functioning properly and is ready to use, and that the right materials are available for particular lessons.
- Work closely with students to explain or demonstrate experiments or how to use equipment.
- Health and safety within a lab
- Set up apparatus and clear everything away at the end of day
- Help junior science technicians
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Previous work as a lab technician
- A bachelor’s degree (or similar) in science, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for science and working within a school
