Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nine month Assistant Psychology post, specifically to support clinicians in the delivery of evidence based psychological therapeutic groups for people with complex emotional needs.
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual, with an interest in working with people with complex difficulties. The role would be primarily supporting the delivery of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Structured Clinical Management (SCM) skills groups in community teams. Main duties will include the delivery and the evaluation of the impact of the group, attending group supervision, MDT case discussions, and audit work. You will be joining a dynamic and busy service with a range of professionals and support staff. The post holder would also be connected to the adult psychology service, which has strong links with the local clinical psychology training courses.
Clinical supervision is integral to this post and to the service and affords an excellent opportunity for the post holder to develop their skills in group work and psychologically informed care. To find out more please contact

As an Assistant Psychologist you will be delivering skills groups with a qualified DBT as part of a full Dialectical Behavioural programme. You will also be delivering skills group as part of Structured Clinical Management.
You will be involved in the auditing of the efficacy of the intervention, reviewing the literature, developing resource packs and completing outcome measures.
The successful candidate will work with service users with complex emotional mental health who are currently on CMHT caseloads. You will deliver Skills groups using the best available evidence base.
Supervision is an integral part of this job and you will be supported with regular access to supervision on a consistent basis.
It is desirable to have an interest in working with people with complex emotional needs.
