Site Engineer

I am looking for an experienced Site Engineer to work in the Rochester area. The perfect applicant will have knowledge and experience working on projects within wastewater or water treatment.
Job Title: Site Engineer

Rate: £400 - £450 per day

Duties will include:
- Act as site Temporary Works Coordinator, responsible for the total management of temporary works on site, reviewing design, maintaining temporary works register, carry out temporary works checks with sub-contractor temporary works coordinator.
- Lifting Appointed Person, co-ordinate and approve lift plans for site
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices.
- Ensure that the required quality records are maintained.
- Ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures and safe working practices
- Ensure good, honest and open lines of communication are established
- Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, preparation of Method Statements, Action Plans and Risk Assessments.
- Checking the sub-contractors setting out of the works.
- Checking site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
- Agreement of site measurements and records with the client's staff.
- Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register and site filling system.
- Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is always used.
- Taking off quantities from drawings for measurement purposes and to assist in the preparation of requisitions.
- Assist in the preparation of the construction completion documentation.
- Witness inspections on site inc. pre pour inspections, pre load inspections quality checks.
- Mentor site apprentice
- Provide technical support to Site Foreman and Site Manager
- Design coordination between temporary and permanent works designers and site team
- Facilitate design to construction handover briefings.
- Technical review of RAMS and ITPs
- Mentor site apprentice
- It is vitally important that Site Engineers lead by example in terms of safety behaviours.
Skills Required:
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- CSCS or ECS card
- SMSTS as preferred and SSSTS as a minimum
- First Aid (preferred)
- COMPEX (preferred)
- Full UK Driving Licence
Skills Desirable:
- Ambitious and dynamic personality
- Experience of working on Water Industry construction projects, preferably with experience of large and complex deliveries
- Someone with a commitment to right first time
- Ideally have 5 years water experience
- Ambitious and dynamic personality
- Strong leadership and a commitment for delivering excellence
