Settlements Controller
Manchester

£22,500 per annum (PAYE)
Key Purpose of the Role:
The Settlements Controller will be responsible for reconciling and processing 200+ internal settlements for daily card scheme processing submitted by our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciling scheme processing against amounts we are expecting to receive based on data files submitted by our customers.
- Identifying, raising, and resolving anomalies.
- Ensuring that we have no large discrepancies with cash from the schemes.
- Resolving of queries raised by our internal and external stakeholders within agreed Service Level Agreements
- Producing management information and statistics based on our daily output.
- Liaising with internal and external teams to ensure all requested payments and transfers have been completed within the agreed time frames.
- Proactively working as part of the wider Settlements Team to ensure all team objectives are achieved.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with payment/banking systems.
- Experience in payments, acquiring, or finance industries.
- Analytical and statistical examination skills for complex problem-solving.
- Attention to detail and commitment to getting it right the first time.
- Prioritisation skills and ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Ability to identify issues and anomalies beyond numbers and understand root causes of queries.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and requests.
- Highly motivated.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
- Comfortable and confident in engaging with team members and stakeholders.
- Determined and able to persist through problems.
- Desire to understand end-to-end processes and the bigger picture beyond the team.
