Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to play a lead role in our newly formed team of psychologists offering support to the staff working within The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital sites. The Staff Psychology Service has been set up following substantial investment and the post holder would contribute to the design and delivery of the new service.
The Service provides interventions for teams and individuals who have been identified as in need of specialist psychological support. This includes Psychological Debrief in response to traumatic incidents. Short term EMDR interventions will also be offered as needed. There are a number of teams and professional groups that are in need of provision to prevent burn out and to recover from the multiple demands and challenges of the last few years.
The Service provides a range of staff support interventions. There is a blended approach to interventions, allowing the post holder to work on site and remotely. The Service sits within the People Directorate, with close working with the Workforce Leads to identify needs across clinical and non clinical areas. The Staff Psychology Service provides proactive initiatives such as reflective practice and supervision and will work with leaders to promote practices to support staff wellbeing. EMDR training will be provided to all staff working in the team, with support to gain EMDR accreditation.
The Trust’s Lead Consultant Psychologist is overseeing the establishment of the Staff Psychology Service. The team is made up of mental health professionals including Psychology and Counsellors. The clinical model is still under development, with a clear strategic direction of supporting each of the Divisions with a bespoke offer. Post holders will have the opportunity to contribute to the design of the Service, as well as having a unique job plan in response to the needs of the staff.
There will be provision for CPD in short term interventions and specialist supervision.This exciting new Service will offer a wide range of development opportunities and experiences of working closely with the Trust Lead Psychologist.
