Job description
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Clinical Coding Team. As Head of Coding, the post holder will be responsible for leading and developing the Clinical Coding Service across the Trust
The post is responsible for leading and developing the Clinical Coding Service across the Trust to maximise Trust income under Payment by Result (PbR) and in support the Trust in delivering its clinical and business objectives. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely coding of all patient treatment where income can be claimed under the PbR regime.
The post-holder will be expected to work with a high degree of professional confidence and autonomy and will be an integral part of the leadership and management team within the Finance Directorate to deliver outstanding service.
The post holder will be expected to identify and advance ways in which the Trust can better collect and utilise clinical information to meet its objectives and develop its business.
The post holder will be expected to lead Trust-wide and site-wide projects and initiatives as directed by the Assistant Director of Business Intelligence and the Deputy Director of Finance.
The post holder will lead on PbR assurance and will supporter the Trust’s information and clinical governance requirements.
