You will be expected to deliver information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to effectively engage others and achieve desired results. This will include working or liaising with other departments within the clinics. Actively participate in the ordering, cleaning and processing of surgical sets, instruments and consumables. Management duties and responsibilities To work with other members of the Theatre team to ensure that operating lists run smoothly, safely and efficiently. All Cleaning and Regular checks are undertaken of equipment, trolleys and medications and are recorded and signed for. That all issues and concerns are proactively managed and communicated to the Theatre Lead. Patient Pathway Planning Able to demonstrate good anaesthesia technique to ensure safety, good practice and patient care. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in some of the surgical specialties we undertake at the Clinic. Ensuring patient privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times. Ability to competently work in theatres, providing support to the Surgeon to maintain a positive patient experience. To ensure all information regarding each surgical procedure is documented accurately and recorded in the Theatre Register, and electronically. Document all instructions for post-operative care. Liaise and communicate with the Surgeon, Anaesthetist, and Theatre team and ward staff as and when necessary regarding Patient Care. Monitoring and Reporting Be able to identify all key monitoring required for each individual patient and the procedure that they have received. Identify issues, voice concerns and be proactive in raising them with Theatre Lead and completing incident reports where necessary. Communicate with Theatre Team Lead on a regular basis to ensure the smooth running of the operating theatre unit. Raise and voice any concerns regarding Patient care. Key Competencies The successful candidate will be: A Registered nurse with the NMC or Operating Department Practitioner with the HCPC and have the following key skills and competencies: Knowledge and experience in a range of surgical specialities, including Vascular, ENT, General, Pain Management, Orthopaedics and Ophthalmic surgery Experience of working in a similar role. Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Flexible approach to work and the willingness to work in other areas within the Operating Department.
