Job Title: Company Accountant - Nonprofit Sector

A dynamic and impactful nonprofit organisation, with a commitment to creating positive change in the community are seeking a skilled and passionate Company Accountant to join the finance team.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented Company Accountant to manage financial activities, ensure compliance with regulations, and contribute to the overall financial health of our nonprofit organisation. This role provides a unique opportunity to combine financial expertise with a passion for making a difference.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards.
2. Grant Compliance:
• Manage and monitor grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with program managers to track and report on grant-funded initiatives.
3. Audit and Compliance:
• Prepare for and support annual financial audits, liaising with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulatory requirements and reporting obligations.
4. Budgeting and Planning:
• Work closely with department heads to develop and manage annual budgets.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
5. Financial Systems:
• Utilise and maintain financial systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Provide training and support to staff on financial systems usage.

Qualifications:

• Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and a strong understanding of fund accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
