Accident Repair Centre Workshop Controller - We currently have a rewarding opportunity to join a growing and reputable BSI Accident Repair Group, based within their High Wycombe site. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced Workshop controller from either a body shop or Accident repair background, to join a friendly and experienced team, for a business who achieving great things within the industry.
Ideally, to be successful in this specific workshop controller role, you will have experience working within a mainstream accident repair centre, dealing with insurance led crash repairs and accident damaged vehicles.
The Job: Workshop Controller / Bodyshop Controller
- Liaise with production staff to monitor the number of vehicles coming into the site for repair
- Oversee around 15 skilled repair technicians within the bodyshop, combining Panel beaters, MET Technicians and Paint sprayers.
- The role is responsible for ensuring all incoming work is planned as well as managing the time and resource.
- As a Workshop Controller, you will assign technicians, panel beaters, MET Technicians, Vehicle Paint Sprayers etc, to tasks ensuring productivity is maximised and that deadlines are adhered to.
- Plan your workload effectively to ensure vehicles are ready to agree timescales;
- Carry out work in accordance with manufacturers specification.
- Optimum utilisation of resources within area of responsibility as set out in targets
- To deliver the customer service standards as outlined by the company procedures and policies
- Awareness of health and safety requirements in the workshop, and responsibility of personal protection equipment worn by the staff in the areas of responsibility
- Responsible for notification of potential health and safety risk to the people who may be directly affected by the risk
- Ability to monitor and control workshop output and efficiencies
- Verbal explanation of the repair procedure and process to the workshop and customers and variable levels of understanding
- Awareness of workshop equipment capabilities in order to implement the use of such equipment when allocating tasks
- Work in an accident repair centre
- Workshop controller must have the Ability to value a vehicle at a market value in order to determine the repairable economics of a damaged vehicle
Job Experience Required:
- Workshop Controller experience is essential
- Skills in applying and using knowledge in a supervisory position.
- Knowledge and understanding of the provisions of E.P.A. and H&S. BSI PAS 101, Advance, preferred
- Experience in dealing with and resolving Health & Safety issues
